Healthy Is The Key Word To My Future

I’m back in Florence, South Carolina!

….huh, that’s funny.  I’ve been sitting at this blog screen for about an hour now and I can’t find what I initially wanted to talk about haha.

But its’ all good, at least I wrote down the title before getting caught up watching George Lopez and Family Guy.  It’s been months since I’ve had a chance to watch t.v.  Actually, I barely watched t.v. at the apartment even once…

But yeah, back to the title….

Here’s a problem that I’m sure a lot of people that leave home have:  Everytime I go home, I gain weight.  But just as I talked about in one of my previous blogs (I really don’t like repeating myself because most people don’t tell you that you’ve talked about it before, and then they don’t even listen to what you have to say), I’m seriously on my health grind.  So, starting tomorrow I’m going to get a gym membership that I will start going to everyday.  My daily regiment will be something like this:

-Wake up, chant, and eat breakfast with my mother and talk to my brother before he goes to school

-Clean up a part of the house then go work out for a few hours

-Get some lunch, then study until my mom gets home

-help cook dinner, then hang out with friends

-come home, blog and sleep

-do it all over again

This isn’t set in stone, but this is the general framework of how I want my month to go.  I’m going to get some new shoes coming up this next tax free weekend.  It’s exciting, but annoying at the same time.  I don’t like shopping in general because of the time it takes to get what you want.  Trying on things, waiting in line, walking to different stores, etc. I just find the whole process too taxing to fully enjoy the actual items that I bought…..up until I start rockin da new outfits that is.

But yeah, Imma get some new kicks because I haven’t had any new shoes since the beginning of my senior year in high school and I’m starting to get holes in the shoes that I use the most.  Plus, kicks are necessary to increase the swagg as well.  Shit, I have to get up hella early on tax free weekend….

Oh well, what can ya do?  How does this relate to the health?  Well, looking good = feeling good.  Feelin good = confidence = higher self esteem = healthy self image = better mental/social health.  It might seem like a long shot to some, but that’s how I see it.  And even if that doesn’t work, then at least I’ll look good haha.  And even if I don’t look good, well…then I’ll at least feel good about myself.  The placebo effect could lead to something good lol.

I have no weight goals because setting goals doesn’t really help.  But I will get my blood pressure and important stuff like that down.

Man, I’m tired as shit so I think I’ll leave it here for today.  And my apologizes for not writing more, I’m still adjusting to East Coast time.  Most people don’t believe that the 3 hour difference fucks me up, but believe me it takes me more time to get used to it than it took for me to get over my jetlag after I came back from China.

So, I look forward to chilling tomorrow and spending time with my mother because it’s her bday tomorrow.  I’ll get her some cake and a card and maybe catch a movie with her.
