Being Back Home Is Always Weird For Me

Nothing ever changes, yet things will never be the same as when I was growing up…

I don’t know how to describe it…home is home, but different.  All the channels on t.v. are the same, yet everything has changed.  You know how to get everywhere, yet things aren’t where they are suppose to be.  Everywhere you go you see someone you know, yet they look different.

Like I said, nothing changes, yet everything is different.

But, different doesn’t mean bad.  Not at all.

As a matter of fact, I’m happy to see that things are different.  I see that people of many different races are starting to get along with each other, which is something completely different than what I was used to growing up.  I mean, (no offense to anyone when I say this) but white people talk to me and look at me, my friends, black/mexican people with respect rather than disdain now.  I see niggaz from the hood chillin with the white boyz and respect is shown mutually.  Mixed couples don’t get as many funny looks as they used to.  Maybe it’s due to hip-hop culture blurring the line between pop/skater culture…..maybe the older generation is dying out….who knows for sure, but racist old SC is becoming more like California. (we country folk still broke as hell tho haha)

Speakin of bein back home, (and yes, I know I may get negative things said/thought about me for puttin this out there like this, but hey, people are reading this for my thoughts (at least I hope…) so I’mma go head n put it out there) I MISSED MY SC WOMEN!  I’m not gonna lie, I’ll have my hands full trying to seek out the refined women around here, but I do miss the in ya face realness of cuntry women.  Yet, on the other hand, they will throw them hands for the man that they love.  I’m pretty sure that if I went to the more…hmm…nah, i’ll just put it like this: Let me go to the hood parts of CA and I think I’ll find similar women.  CA women are nice to look at, but cuntry women is where it’s at.  If only I could combine the best of both of these worlds, then I would be able to find women worthy of that wifey status…..anyways, let me digress before the women stop reading my blog haha.

I think it’s funny how some women think men are complicated. lol While I’m typing this, there’s this British t.v. show where a mother and daughter were talking about how they couldn’t figure out men.  It’s funny because men are way more simple than women are in my opinion.  As a matter of fact, I’ve been told by many women that they agree with me, but usually it’s the older women who tell me this.  Also, I’ve seen many women teaching younger girls to don’t be simple.  And anything that I say isn’t meant to be offense (unless I say otherwise), but because everyone is speaking in a British accent I’m getting annoyed.  I’m getting annoyed because to me it sounds like it’s broken English, similar to what I hear at Soka all the time.  I think it’s because the intonation of their speech patterns mimics that of broken English in addition of them using many phrases that are unique to British colloquial speech.  See, even Nick at Night is the same but different: comes on at the same time, yet a gang of different shows.  At least there is my nigga George Lopez still on his grind.

On a brief side note, I’m glad that there is someone like George Lopez on television.  It gives the spanish speaking citizens (or non-citizens lol) a chance to enjoy American television with something that they can relate to.  And vice versa, it’s a good show to give people a brief look into the life of a spanish speaking family.  Of course, their lifestyle is based on a middle-class family type, but it works.  It’s kinda like Dave Chappell for black people;  yeah he made fun of black people, but he at least did it tastefully.  Actually, that’s kind of a far-fetched example, but my point is that they do comedy tastefully.

Yeah, I haven’t had a chance to hang out much with people yet, but I will soon.  But it has been good to see the people that I’ve seen so far.  Too bad that a lot of people leave next week for school, but I’m not worried.  The next couple days imma be updatin da swagg and next week I get my gym on as well so I’m excited with that.  I just hope that I get to hang with the ones that I really want to….

Let me finish up with another lil fact about me:  I miss talking on the phone as a teenager.  Nowadays, talking on the phone is a hassle.  It’s not like I don’t like talkin on the phone, cuz trust me I could talk for hours, but I only like it when it’s an actual conversation, not me trying to come up with things to talk about, not me listening to the other person breath on the other side of the phone (unless I’m puttin them to bed/they puttin me to sleep), and not to get bitched at about how the communication has failed between us even though it takes two to have a relationship/conversation.
